About Me
Hello, and welcome! I wanted to share a little about myself and what I hope to do with this website.
My interest in photography began as a kid, using hand-me-down cameras from family members. After stepping away from it for quite a while, traveling eventually brought me back. What started as a way to capture the people, places, and everyday moments I encountered and share them with friends and family gradually developed into a much greater interest in photography.
I started taking it more seriously with my iPhone, completing a photography course and spending about a year and a half learning the fundamentals before investing in my first mirrorless camera in the spring of 2024. Since then, photography has become a constant process of learning, experimenting, and finding new ways to see the world.
Street and documentary photography are particular interests, especially the opportunity to observe people and experience different cultures. Southeast Asia has been one of my favorite places to photograph. There’s something special about the everyday interactions we often take for granted, and I hope my photographs can help highlight the beauty and common humanity found in people around the world.
My interests extend well beyond street photography, though. Landscapes, wildlife, sports, outdoor adventures, and experimenting with new techniques all offer something different to learn. Currently based in the Tucson, Arizona area, I’ve recently been focusing more on portrait photography and learning to incorporate flash. I’m also interested in photographing high school and collegiate sports, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities.
Webpage Goals
Beyond sharing photographs, I’d like this website to become a place to exchange ideas and help others learn. I shoot primarily with Fujifilm cameras and am happy to share camera settings, equipment setups, editing techniques, and things I’ve found useful along the way. I also plan to share travel experiences and practical tips, particularly for anyone interested in photography while exploring new places.
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about photography is how much there is to learn from other photographers, regardless of experience level. If you’re in the Tucson area and would like to get out and shoot together, collaborate on a project, or exchange ideas, I’d be happy to connect whenever possible.
And if there’s a photography topic, technique, or travel destination you’d like to hear my perspective on, feel free to suggest it. I’m still learning myself, but I’m always happy to share what I’ve picked up and learn from others in the process.
Whether you’re interested in collaborating, booking a shoot, asking a question, or just talking photography, don’t hesitate to reach out. Instagram (Offbeat.Nomad.Adventures) is currently the best way to contact me while I continue building out this website.
